German Cemetry de Vladslo DIKSMUIDE in DIXMUDE / BELGIUM description:

This military graveyard was only set-up in 1954, when the different small military graveyards from the erea were joined together on this one, large field. Hre, you find the remains of 25.638 German soldiers, who didn't survive the First World War. The statues of the grieving parents ('Father' and 'Mother') was made in 1932 by Käthe Kollwitz-Schmidt, in memory of her own 17 year old sun Peter who died in Esen on october 23th 1914.
