These pyramides above the town of Stob are an interesting and beautiful fenomen of nature and a nice landscape.

My explanation is that the upper layer of the ground is harder and the lower levels of sandstone. As long as the upper 'stone' remains on place, this protects the lower ground. But as soon as it falls, the softer ground is not protected anymore agains the rain and so the pyramid vanishes faster...
