Cornet Monastry (Manastirea Cornet) Tutulesti in Racovita / Romania description:

The Cornet monastery was founded in 1666 by Mares Bajescu and his wife Maria.

The altar was painted in 1741. In 1808, a heavy fire burned down the Cornet onastery, which was rebuilt in 183. In 1898 monastery found itslef in the way to build a railway. In the end, the train passed under the church door, the cells had been destroyed. Froom the old buildings, only a small garden house, and east and north walls were remaining. The dome and part of the altar got destroyed in 1916-1918 and were rebuilt in 1923-1925.

In 1960, the site was restaurated by the Ministery of Historical Monuments. Inside the church, there is an altarpiece from 1761 by Roger, Michael and Iordache.

The Byzantine church is quite high, with thick stone walls. The naveand narthex date from 1835 (under Irinarh). The church carries 2 towers, one on the nave and one on the narthex. The walls are in layers of gypsum and brick.
