Old Great Synagogue Satu Mare / Romania description:In the middle of the 19th century the Judes became more and more important in Satu
mMre. This led to multiple synagogues in te city. This 'Great Synagogue'
was built in 1890.
The Second World War would end this in a drammatic way. Transylvania as controlled
by the Hongarian - German troups. The more than 18.000 Juids where first gathered in
getto's, and finally brought to the concentration camps. here, more than 14.000 amongst
the got killed....
