Japanese Tower LAKEN in BRUSSEL / BELGIUM description:

After having visited the World Exhibition in Paris in 1900, King Leopold II asked the Paris architect Alexandre Marcel the order to build the Chinese paviljon and the Japanese Tower. A building from the Paris World Exhibition was bought as entry paviljon.

The colorful woord-carving of both buildings is made by specialists from an Yokohama en Shanghai.

Nowadays, it is a small museum, housing Chinese porselain and Japanese art.

We thank Bart Van Oudenhove for the pictures of the illumination over night.
