Butanding - Whaleshark searching Donsol / Philippines description:OK, you need to have some luck every now and then.... On base of what I heard begin april 2012... about 1 on 3 boats actually se whalesharks. The other ones need to be happy with a nice view on the coast... and a nice boat trip (already woth the effort)! To increase you chances, you need to go in the ealry morning.
But... we were lucky. We have seen a large one! In fact, our boatsman had already given up (we were speeding to see some dolphins instead).
Another luck was the fact that we managed to get a boad during Eastern Week-End (you can't make a reservation upfront via internet, and we had only 2 days in the area)! A woman from a local dive shop saw from my face we had failed getting a boat! But she had one available.... (eventually email at ardelmalto87@yahoo.com).
