Brief: The Merton college was founded in 1264 by Walter de Merton. Later, he'd make it to bishop of Rochester brengen. The eldest buildings date from the end of the 13th century. The south and west side of the library date from 1373- 1378 wich would make this the eldest still functionaing library in the world.
