Saint Project Fountain Bordeaux / FRANCE description:This fountain was erected in 1737. According to most sources, this
fountain was drawn by Michel Van der Woort, but this might be wrong (see below)
The statues above the fronton
represent the rivers Peugue and Devèze. It was at the confluant of these rivers that the
Middle Ages city was created.
The fronton shows the city arms of Bordeaux and fruits.
According to Joost van der Voort (translated by us): 'This fountain is work of
Michiel van der Voort, born in Antwerp, son of the famous sculptorMichiel van
der Voort-the Elder (see wikisage.com for further info).'
