Saint Michael's Basilica Bordeaux / FRANCE description:Carmen: 'Basilica (church) Saint Micheal -Bordeaux
Built in the 14th till 16th century, high Gothic, in the Saint-
Michael's area in Bordeaux. Since 1846, this basilica is classified as Historic
Monument, and in 1998 it was added to the UNESCO's Wolrd Inheritage list.
Central porch under
pointed arch, 3nave,
side chapels.
The clock tower -114m height and built separate from the basilica,
dates from the 15th century.
Impressive interior decoration. Many statues, fe St.Jacques ,
Pieta, St Ursula. The organ case dates from 1762-
1765 and is an example of Louis XV. The
pulpit is 15th century.
The crypt has an ossuary. '
