Sainte Mary on Wieze church Soest / Germany description:This Maria-Zur-Wieze church is essentially a late Gothic
church, although the towers are neo
Gothic and date from the 19th century. The construction started in 1313, replacing a
Romanesque church. The building was built in green sandstone.
You see typical late Gothic lancet arch windows, en
buttresses carrying pinnacle. Also the
entrance is under a pointed arch. In the
area under the arch no tympanum statue, but
glass frame with tracery containing
trefoils, trefoil arches and
quatrefoils.
