Hans Löwenstein House Aachen / Germany description:This Gothic corner house was finished around 1344. It's
original function is not clear : it can f.e. has been a house, a bar, a hotel.... The
name is a family name: in 1478 c certain Ida von Löwenstein lived here.
Because this was a stone, this building was one of the only surviving
the large Aachen city fire from 1656.
Nowadays, the eldest Aachener Carnaval Group houses here.
The fake kcrenels and the corbeling out
turret give a rahter military impression to the building, contradicted by
the large cross-bar frame windows.
On the corner there is a gilt statue
representing the Saint Nepomuk.
