Saint Jacob's Tower (Tour Saint-Jacques) Paris / FRANCE description:

This 16th century Late Gothic tower belonged to the Saint- Jacques-de-la-Boucherie church (Saint Jacob of the butcher). The church was destroyed during French Revolution. It was an impportant stop for the pilgrims going to Santiago-the-Compostella.

In 1836 the city of Paris bought the territory and made it into a park.
