Saint-Barbara's church (in Eisden-Maasmechelen) MAASMECHELEN / BELGIUM description:

This neogothic church was built between 1934 and 1936 accroding to Auguste Vanden Nieuwenborg's plans for the Mining company Limburg - Maas. Is is one of the cathedrals of the mines.

This 'Cathedraal of the Kemps' was meant as the central point, but the surrounding buildings were never finished. From the 53 m high tower you have a great view on the surroundings.

Thanks to Ivo Swinnen for pictures and info.

beatrix schenk: 'I found this church so beautiful and so peaceful that I cant wait to see it again. I thought it was wonderful'
