Hotel Dacia falling into Ruins Satu Mare / Romania description:

This building, former Hotel Dacia, was built in 1901 in a form of Art Nouveau style (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vienna_SecessionSecession style) according to Zoltán Bálint en Lajos Jámbor (Frommer) 's plans (those were architects from Bucarest). Hotel Dacia was built on the site of the former city hall, which was destryed in 1900 to make room for it.

The 9 spans large building is richly decorated with jaunty flower motives. The 1 span large middle ressault is crowned with a jaunty lantern tower. Typical for the Secession style are elements that point towers the Gothic style, like pinnacles crocket like decorations.

Techically, this building was a master piece, being very modern with it's metal skeleton.

Inside, the ballroom is the most spectacular room.

Sadlys, this building is (april 2015) falling into ruins. It was sold to some investor, but he got into financial problems and could not finish the restauration works...
